Growing Grass
Firstly I’d like to say, no it’s NOT that kind of grass.
After successfully nurturing a bamboo plant that is now almost out of control, I was in Lowe’s the other day with Ellie, and we had talked about trying to grow grass indoors. We talked to one of the knowledgeable employees about what kind of seed to try to use to grow it and looked around at the various products.
This is my first serious attempt at exercising a green thumb, as I’ve heard it’s actually really hard to kill bamboo, and finding out if my thumb is both literally and figuratively ‘brown’. Hah. I also decided to go a bit further and pick up my first 2 plants for my place, and a couple of grow kits – Cilantro and Peppers, both I cook with regularly.
So far so good. The grass is growing tall as you can see from the picture above and the peppers and cilantro have sprouted. Again, this is all indoors, so we’ll see how it goes. With Fall/Winter coming up, planting outside isn’t really an option.
I’ll post again with pics of the final products if I’m successful.

[...] A couple weeks ago I convinced a certain someone that we should try growing some grass. (And no, not THAT kind of grass!) So off we went to Lowe’s for our supplies– a *huge* bag of grass seed, another huge bag of dirt-mixture, pots, and a few other little plant kits that were just too cute to pass by (grow your own hot pepper garden in a mini-greenhouse, anyone??)
